Apex Clean Energy has chosen Reed & Reed, Inc. as its EPC partner to construct the Downeast Wind project in Columbia, Maine.
Reed & Reed was awarded the project in November of 2022 following a competitive bid selection process.
Downeast Wind is a 126MW wind project consisting of 30 Vestas V150 4.2 SE 120m HH turbines located in Washington County, Maine. Construction began in March 2023 and is scheduled to be commercially operational by December 2024. Downeast Wind is located within ISO-NE and will interconnect at a new switchyard on Emera’s 115kV transmission line, which is approximately 0.1 miles from the project substation.
Reed & Reed’s scope includes the construction of:
- Sitework and access Roads/Crane Paths
- Wind Turbine Foundations
- Underground 34.5 kV Collection System
- Collector Substation
- Interconnect Switchyard
- Wind Turbine Erection
