Jackson A. Parker, Chairman & CEO
Jack is a 1976 graduate of Colby College where he earned a BA in Government. He received an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College in 1979. While in college, he worked summers for Reed & Reed building bridges and other projects.
Upon receiving his Master’s degree from Dartmouth, he took a position with FMC Corporation in Chicago in corporate finance from 1979 to 1980 working on mergers and acquisitions, capital investment analysis and reviewing operating performance of the company’s various businesses. From 1980-82 he
was Material Cost Control Manager at Bath Iron Works Corporation where his department tracked the cost of materials used in the construction of guided missile frigates.
In 1982 he joined Reed & Reed as CFO and was elected President and CEO in 1985. During his tenure Reed & Reed has grown many times over by expanding into new markets, acquiring two competitor companies, forming joint ventures for several major projects, establishing a new business unit in the Caribbean and becoming the premier wind power services contractor in New England.
Thomas C. Reed, Treasurer & General Superintendent
Tom is a graduate of Deerfield Academy and a 1987 graduate of Colby College with a degree in economics. He began working summers for Reed & Reed while in high school and has worked on many of the company’s most challenging projects.
He was elected Treasurer in 1993 but his primary focus is running key projects in the field where he has been a Project Superintendent on many key projects including the Casco Bay Bridge, Brunswick-Topsham Bypass, International Ferry Terminal, Prospect-Verona Bridge, Mars Hill Wind farm, Stetson Wind Project and Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Tom’s expertise and field experience gives him a unique perspective on industry and company activities and puts him on the leading edge of many construction initiatives the company undertakes.
Arthur J. Cavanagh, President & Chief Operating Officer
Art Cavanagh was elected President and Chief Operating Officer in 2018. He is a graduate of Norwich University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Art has 38 years of construction experience and most recently has been responsible for all wind and electrical projects at Reed & Reed. The last twenty years he has held senior positions for projects in the Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and USVI markets.
Art is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction operations, pre-construction services, business development and overall project delivery from estimating through completion. He is creating and implementing new strategies to improve performance and communicating these with employees, building employee alignment with company goals and overseeing development of talented individuals.
Art’s Project experience includes broad diversity and expertise with extensive experience leading teams with varied delivery methods including EPC, Design Build, Hybrid Design Build -VAAP, Construction Management, Construction Management at Risk and design-bid-build projects. |
