Project Description
Reed & Reed was selected as the EPC contractor for construction of Phase II of the Stetson Wind Power Project. This followed the successful completion of the 57 mw Stetson 1 project which went on line at the end of 2008. The scope of work included geotechnical exploration and analysis, permitting, final design of the civil, structural and electrical components of the project, substation modification, equipment staging and transport, construction of roads, turbine sites, power collection system, grounding system, foundations, WTG erection, tower electrical work and substation modifications.
As turnkey contractor, Reed & Reed led a project team including designers and subcontractors and managed the entire project while self-performing foundations, WTG handling and transport and WTG erection for the 17 GE 1.5 mw turbines. During this project Reed & Reed reached a milestone by erecting its 100th turbine.
