Work at the Ocean Gateway Expansion was substantially completed in time for the fall 2011 for cruise ship season. Project scope included four new breasting dolphins and three new mooring dolphins along with additional fendering on the existing mooring platform allowing larger cruise ships to make Portland a port-of-call.
The balance of the work included installing gangways, capstans, embarking barge and miscellaneous improvements. Dredging, electrical work and waterline installation were also added to support the larger vessels.
