Project Description
The primary scope of the $6.9 million project at the International Marine Terminal involved the construction of a 13,000 square foot concrete deck expansion of the existing pier, which included the installation of over 4200 lineal feet of 16” diameter pipe pile and the placement of over 450 cubic yards of concrete.
The project also included the removal of the existing Marine Terminal and Custom buildings, the construction of a new upgraded U.S Customs building, and performing various site upgrades including new drainage systems, site work, upgraded lighting, and paving.
The project was completed on original schedule of August 2012 for the MDOT and the City of Portland, even after $990,000 of additional pier expansion work was added to the project in the early 2012.
