Project Description
This challenging bridge replacement project over the Androscoggin River included providing a temporary detour bridge, building a new 500 ft 3-span structure and demolishing the existing 2 span bridge. Reed & Reed elected to move the existing 2 truss spans 75 feet upstream on a temporary substructure and use them as the detour while building the new bridge. Flooding in the fall of 2003 and winter of 2004 created havoc at the site but Reed & Reed completed the project on schedule.
