  Completed: October 2010
  Cost: $320 Million
  Contractor: Reed & Reed, Inc.
Project Overview

TransCanada has signed a Balance-of-Plant contract with Reed & Reed for construction of their 132 MW $320 million Kibby Wind Power Project in Kibby Township, Maine. Reed & Reed has been working since February 2008 to assist in developing this project under a Pre-Construction Services Contract that included design, budget, schedule and permit responsibilities.

Under an EPC contract that includes design, procurement and construction, Reed & Reed will erect 44 each Vestas V90 3.0 MW wind turbines, construct the 34.5 kV electrical collector system and associated access roads. The wind turbines will be erected atop two ridgelines, with 22 turbines on the “A” ridge producing power in October of 2009 and 22 turbines on the “B” ridge producing power in October of 2010.

While self-performing critical elements of the work, Reed & Reed will be managing a team of skilled subcontractors and design professionals to assist in completing this project. These team members have been selected for their unique abilities and past performance on other successful wind power projects. Work began in early September 2008 with clearing and construction of roads and turbine pads.
